Ana Carolina Riella is the Outreach and Case Coordinator for the Harvard Mediation Program (HMP). After completing her training with HMP in 2010, Ana mediated small claims cases in the Cambridge and Malden District Courts. In 2013 she was selected for the very first HMP Training Corp, a seven-member team charged with teaching new trainees in the program’s facilitative mediation model. Beyond HMP Ana worked at the Boston Law Collaborative with David Hoffman, a Harvard Law School Lecturer on Law. She also held the position of Mediation Case Coordinator at the Brazilian Immigrant Center in Boston.
A native of Brazil, Ana mediated cases in a compensation program for the beneficiaries of the 2009 Air France Flight 447 plane crash. Ana’s legal background also includes a position as International Associate at Simpson, Thacher and Bartlett LLP in New York, in-house counsel at Renault SAS in Paris, France, and as intern at the International Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris. She received her LL.M. degree from Georgetown University Law Center and from Université de Paris II – Panthéon-Assas (Paris, France), after earning her J.D. from Pontificia Universidad Católica, in Brazil.
