Sudbury Clergy Association

The Sudbury Clergy Association is enlisting the help of HNMCP to develop a kinder, gentler protocol for engaging at Town Meetings, in town government, and in the schools for the sake of the community’s best interests. Students will conduct a stakeholder assessment of town employees, elected officials, and residents, identify critical areas of disagreement, and propose next steps.

City of Boston Department of Neighborhood Development’s Boston Home Center Division

The Boston Home Center (BHC), a division of the City of Boston’s Department of Neighborhood Development, helps Boston residents purchase, improve, and keep their homes. The BHC is regularly contacted by small, deed-restricted affordable condo associations around a variety of internal conflicts. HNMCP students will assess existing conflict management systems, explore current association conflicts, and develop a system, which may include a protocol, training guide, and/or training, to address these conflicts.

Renmin University Law School

HNMCP, Harvard Project on Disability, and the Renmin University Disability Law Clinic in Beijing continue a relationship that began in the spring of 2012. In this current project, the HNMCP team will examine how stakeholders involved in the education of students with disabilities can better manage disputes in this area and problem solve around specific issues related to education access. They will conduct a stakeholder assessment and conflict analysis, leading to the development of a consensus building curriculum and report.

African Community and Economic Development of New England (ACEDONE)

ACEDONE was founded in 2002 to provide support to Boston’s East African community and families as they integrate into American society. Tensions between old world and new can exacerbate the already challenging teen/parent relationship. ACEDONE has enlisted HNMCP to report on the underlying causes of such tensions in the Somali community, and to recommend techniques and develop a curriculum for effective conflict management.
