The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is an international development finance institution that has been dedicated to improving people’s lives in Asia and the Pacific since 1966.
By targeting investments, in partnership with developing member countries and other stakeholders, ADB aims to alleviate poverty and help create a world in which everyone can share in the benefits of sustained and inclusive growth. The ADB Office of the Ombudsperson (OOMP) is available to all ADB employees to help foster collaboration and to enhance efficient, informal conflict resolution within the organization–both at its headquarters in Manila, Philippines, and in its 31 field offices around the world.
In the spring of 2015, OOMP worked with HNMCP students to better understand why Filipino staff, who constitute 45% of all ADB staff, were using the office disproportionately less than other staff groups. HNMCP identified concrete steps OOMP has been able to take to increase service to local staff. This second project will assess how OOMP is meeting the needs of all ADB staff members, including those who have used OOMP services and staff who may have reservations about the office.
Activities & Deliverables
- Conduct a series of background interviews;
- Develop and administer a survey regarding OOMP to 3,000+ staff members;
- Analyze responses and recommendations;
- Present findings to OOMP staff and possibly other ADB staff
